Background

Luccia Marguglio is a second generation US citizen with parents from Argentina. She has a number of diverse backgrounds, including Italian, Spanish, Hungarian, Romanian, German, and Comechingón (Indigenous Argentina). Since she was a child, she has been exposed to many types of music from different backgrounds, such as Hungarian folk music and Argentinian tango. Over the years, she has also grown fond of European, North American, and Latin American bands, such as Muse, Foo Fighters, and Divididos.

Luccia has a vast musical background as well. She comes from a line of drummers on her father's side, her grandfather being a jazz drummer and her father being a rock drummer; and her grandmother and great grandmother were both pianists. 

Drumming

Luccia's father inspired her to pick up drumming at thirteen years old. When he pulled out the Roland electronic drum kit he first got when he moved to the United States, Luccia was in awe of the instrument. She immediately wanted to learn, so her dad taught her for a little while before getting her classes with a professional drum teacher. Soon, that Roland became her drumset. She started out learning basic rock grooves and rudiments on the snare drum. Her first gig was in December 2019, when she played with a rock band performing "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" by Bruce Springsteen. Shortly after, the pandemic started.

Pandemic

The pandemic, as for everyone, was a major catalyst in Luccia's life. For a while, she found it difficult to practice drumming, due to being in a household of six people 24/7. During lockdown, Luccia resumed drum classes online and also took on voice and guitar. She enhanced her skills further by learning new grooves and time signatures. When she finally went back to in-person lessons she found amazing teachers to continue to improve and learn new things like the timpani and mallet keyboard, as well as many different styles of drumming: Jazz, Bossa Nova, Funk, Cascara/Mambo, Calypso, Reggae, and more.

Producing

Luccia joined an online band in 2022, when she discovered producing for the first time. Soon she was fully immersed in working with the band to write music. She started out using her drumming skills to improve the band's prior songs. Then, she learned how to use plug-ins like EQ, compression, and modulation.
